Welcome to this site dedicated to informing you about weeds in New Zealand. It has been designed both for general members of the public and also for students of Massey University studying about weeds.

For those of you wanting to learn how to identify New Zealand weeds, and about the biology and control of these weeds, you are welcome to browse through our weeds database.  Note that it is best to enter the database initially by clicking here rather than the "Database" button on the top bar, as that tends to take you to the "HortInfo" site by mistake due to sharing of our database with that subscription-based site.  Once you are in the database for the day, you can then use the top button safely for refreshing the page after performing a search.  Sorry about that bug.

For those of you who are already Massey students, the weeds database will help you identify weeds for collections or tests you may be studying towards. The weed quiz will help you test how well you can identify New Zealand weeds. If you have not already done so, you may like to find out more about the internal version of 283.311 Controlling Weeds.

If you are already enrolled for the 283.311 Controlling Weeds paper, check out the tutorial material in the Stream site that has been set up for this paper, and use the material in the Database in this current site to help with your weed collection and for Assignment 3.  You do not need to login for this.  The login on this site is now redundant with the introduction of the Stream site.

If you have come to this page because you are in 283.101 Plants in Agriculture or 285.201 Understanding Plant Protection, there is no need to login (and in fact you will not be able to). Simply click on the "Database" button at the top of the page to access the material you need for your assignments.
